Robert Cooprider, LPC
Passionate about effecting positive changes, creating hope and health in the lives of others. I have a holistic, strength-based, person-centered approach to counseling and psychotherapy. I believe empathy, rapport, and unconditional support provide the base for positive changes to arise. I work with children (12 and older), adolescents, adults and families.
After a career in technology working as a Business Analyst, I took an opportunity to change careers and started down a path in the healing professions. I received a Bachelor’s in Psychology, a Master’s in Education, and a post graduate certification in Professional Counseling from Ottawa University in 2002. I have worked as a Youth Care Worker, Functional Family Therapist, Multi-Systemic Therapist, Assistant Psychologist in a sex offender facility, and as a Child and Family Therapist, before starting my private practice in Salem, Oregon.
I am licensed in Oregon and Arizona as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I maintain an office in Salem Oregon and provide in-office services for clients throughout the Oregon Willamette Valley and teletherapy for clients throughout the states of Oregon and Arizona. My areas of expertise include individual, adolescent, and family, and marriage and relationships. I also have experience treating anger management, stress reduction, pain management, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, as well as many other issues.
I believe focusing on the gifts and strengths people possess, make a difference in creating the positive changes they desire in their lives. I also believe it is important to balance all aspects of our lives, the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual in order to live our best possible life.
